The Harmony of Heart and Mind
Exploring Compassion and Emptiness on the Path of Freedom Feeling free can feel distant from our busy or troubled lives. But Dharma teachings are not waiting for some future moment that is perfect for their exploration. They are for life, here and now, as it unfolds. When ever we bring mindful and heartful presence we notice that freedom starts right there. Through skilful practices of heart and mind we can find an accessible compassion that naturally arises in the face of difficulties, and a profound liberating emptiness in the interconnected nature of all things. In additional to immersion in silent meditation, there will be guided meditations to open the wisdom mind and caring heart, and teachings to explore the deep understandings that compassion and emptiness reveals. Nathan began meditating in 1997 and began teaching on silent meditation retreats in 2006. From a continued exploration of meditation on silent retreats grew a deep love of silence and the power of stillness. The realisation of the potential of every moment to become a moment of awakening provoked an exploration of meditation in daily life activities. An urge to offer retreats that offer deep connection in an active life led to the initiative in 2004 of SanghaSeva. |
