In developing the qualities of mindfulness, goodwill, and wise understanding, we protect ourselves and we protect others. This day of practice together will cultivate our inherent capacities for mindful presence, discernment and heartfulness through guided meditation practice and dharma reflection. There will be periods of sitting and walking meditation and some mindful movement. Jaya began meditating in 1985, and was ordained as a nun in the Thai Forest Tradition from 1996-2005. Her first teacher was Ajahn Sumedho, and she is currently completing a four-year teacher training with Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein and others. She teaches retreats at Gaia House and in the USA, and also teaches Mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion. |
